Grounded, is a collection of paintings exploring our complex relationship with the planet we inhabit and the disconnection between humans and nature.

The larger pieces in this body of work focus on the early pioneers of the space race as symbols of our ability to meet challenges and unite society.

These artificial motifs are set in verdant earthly surroundings suggesting a parallel utopia, where people and nature are truly intertwined in a balanced social-ecological system.

Morant explains; “I see a paradox that exists as technology pushes ahead, while around us our ecosystem crumbles with equal momentum.

We have entered the Anthropocene, a new era where mankind has become the most influential force of change upon our planet. Our negligence has lasting consequences and we bear the responsibility of restoring balance”
